Logic cemented himself with “Under Pressure” and G eazy’s debut was doing crazy numbers. This was when it looked like Hoodie was entering the big leagues, with “People keep talking” album, it sold like 32k first week. His peak was releasing the same week as logic’s under pressure. He’s literally been calling ever since, idk if he still does it now though lol.īut the thing with Kyle is in another comment I posted below.īut nah Hoodie always been interacting with his fans, that was his niche at the time and how he got to where he was. I gotta give him credit there because since his first mainstream project “All American” which is when I first heard of him, he promised that every single person who bought that album would get a call from him. Which is why I recorded it and sent it to my boy at the time. But with everything happening now, it’s all making sense, because the way Kyle even threw him under the bus like that after all the years they knew each other, like G-eazy and Skizzy, even if it was just because they were all in the same indie lane at one time, was odd to me. So I don’t think it was the crowds, or maybe some of them were trash but on IG at the time I got no sentiment of that from either of them. And I saw a bump in his streams on SoundCloud after this show too (superduperkyle era still). And that was when I became a fan of Kyle actually because he was ripping the stage just based off his energy alone. Adam asked “Was that tour a bad fit for you at the time” And Kyle with no hesitation repeatedly said “yes yes yes” then without further push from Adam, he stared at the camera for a few seconds then unprompted said “it was trash” Then Adam got him to elaborate more, and he ended up turning towards his fan base saying the crowds just wasn’t a fit for him.īut imo I actually attended Happy Camper tour when Kyle was opening for him (NY). Good thing I recorded it on my phone as a snap, the date I have is Aug 3rd 2018, the video that’s up now says Aug 8th 2018.īut basically Adam and Kyle were talking about life & career decisions affecting relationships. I thought I was going crazy because I was rewatching the interview of Kyle on No Jumper and that section isn’t there anymore. I’m looking forward to hearing more from Pep Rally.Sorry for the late response. It’s too early to say at this point, but overall I believe that Hoodie Allen is onto a good thing.

He opens the song with stereotypical spoken phrases like “Lemme drop that” and while listening, I wonder if there’s a gap between Hoodie the person and Hoodie the rapper. At times, Hoodie seems to force bad grammar because that’s what rappers do. The only downside for me is that Hoodie Allen sometimes walks a fine line between cool and corny. The joint is smooth, the production is executed by RJF perfectly, flipping that sample into a clean, laid back, mood setting beat. It samples Two Door Cinema’s “Undercover Martyn” and it’s from the upcoming Pep Rally, which will be heavy on samples (most likely indie rock/pop samples). Now that we’ve got that out there in the open, here is Hoodie Allen‘s newest joint “Words of Wisdom”.

It’s becoming impossible to talk about this brand of hip-hop without at least mentioning Chiddy Bang, so I’m gonna go ahead and get that out of the way.
